"I wouldn't count on today's youngsters to know about L. Frank Baum's earlier and more popular version of Oz's story. It is because of two rather distinct reasons; A: our beliefs in genuine, showbizz-y and color-splashed fairy-tales has gone kaput by the horrid and susceptible likes of up-hinged 3D and flat-footed imagination. "Ideas can be infectious. And they can be deadly as well - especially when they turn up half-baked, sputtering dead half a mile or two before they reach their full potential. Case in point: Go Goa Gone is a patchy comedy, loosely molded around Shawn of the Dead and Zombieland's seriously parodist nature. Where Shawn and Zombieland succeeded with indistinct, at times daft, humour, Go Goa Gone, directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, stumbles, falls and literally becomes zombie-food. "Before the dastardly, self-inflicting, third act of Vishal Bharadwaj and Mukul Sharma's screenplay happens in "Ek Thi Daayan" there is an inquisitive and effectively prolonged second act about two young siblings who believe Konkona Sen Sharma to be a daayan who rode up from the underworld in a dead elevator.

"Re: Epic - as it so happens with films that have a lot riding on them - eg. 3D, crisp CG animation, PG-certification - the title takes itself way too seriously. And it's a good thing it did. Epic swooshes, glides and nose-dives as deftly as the film's main mode of transportation, the hummingbirds. However, the speed also has a side-effect: it eludes any elements of profoundness and the simplicity of a major Oscar contender. [Read Full Review]"
