Mini-Review: What I liked less it's that it begins as a story about the emptiness of death, about the big nothing, but then it just becames sweet, hopeful, with a "maybe then...". I liked the original and interesting idea of two teenagers obsessed with death, and making it later something more usual, something we all have seen before, and having some ridiculous scenes also, just spoils it. Another thing I didn't like was the music, it just seems to don't fit the picture. Good first half, after that...
Mini-Review: Maybe it was not a good day to watch this movie, but I didn't understand 'anything' (meaning not enough to be engaged), it bored me to hell and apart of direction, cinematography and great performances, I didnt' find anything on it I enjoy a bit. Well, I like the ending, but I don't really know what lead to that, though it makes some previous scenes a bit more easy to understand (just a bit). Maybe another year I could think about revisiting it, or maybe after reading the book, but not now.
Mini-Review: Too long and doesn't need it, the musical part is fine, specially some songs, and the story about the flower girl becaming a lady is right too. About the "romantic" (if this can be called like that seriously) is awful, forced for nothing and quite difficult to understand all those changes in the characters in such a short time, not treated in all the movie but just the last half an hour (being a 2.45h movie), quick and bad.
Mini-Review: Clever adaptation of the novel to modern times and younger ages, and probably with hard influence of the acting in Stephen Frears' version. Some changes are good and some are arguable (for example, the ending), but reasonable (it's his version, there're enough out there and we don't have to get just copycats). Worst thing is probably the score and the over-over-acted Selma Blair, I don't know if it's her fault or director asked her to do that, but it's by far too much.
Mini-Review: Same as happened with the second one, only a short part is interesting, a bit longer here. Once the trial against Salander starts, the movie is interesting, so that's maybe 45 minutes (second one maybe was 20). Anyway, you can easily realize both two and three are not good, don't have the same director than the first one, not any other of the team but the actors, and absolutely don't reach the same quality in any aspect. Only if you need to know what happens with Lisbeth Salander no matter how.
Mini-Review: Wow, they really made a mess here, isn't it? I don't know exactly what, as I haven't read the books. The story in the movie has mostly no interest, it's empty, it looks already too long... I cannot imagine what could be added but what could be cut. So my guess is they just made a mess taking things almost randomly. The worst thing is Salander doesn't appear a lot and when she does is just a bit better than correct, so the most interesting thing I found in first one is lost.
