Mini-Review: Contains more details in regards to almost every aspect of the story (particularly, in Blomkvist's family life and past), but lacks the thick atmosphere of the remake and could have used some smoother editing. In both adaptations, I felt as though Blomkvist is more than a little incompetent.
Mini-Review: A film that grips you from the captivating opening (another excellent Reznor soundtrack) and keeps you on a short attentive leash all the way to the credits.
Oh god, Mara's revenge scene was one of the best things I've seen all year. Gripe and compare stale remakes or berate actors for their accents all you want, it still deserves a watch.
Mini-Review: A bit too dry for me, but the birds were worth looking at, and at least I didn't have to pay thousands of dollars in plane tickets to see them.
Mini-Review: 3D is irrelevant and overused of course, the plot is the most far fetched of them all, but this is an overall decent entry in one of the better stoner series.
Mini-Review: Better than the last, there were certainly some memorable scenes, yet it's still sullied by yet another crappy ending.
Mini-Review: Nice atmosphere and tension, generated mostly by Paxton, but the third act really ended up impacting my score.
Mini-Review: First of all, let me say that Hugh Jackman is a curse on robotkind almost every-time he fights (not to mention a despicable person). Still, I enjoyed the robot designs overall, perhaps most of all for their lack of transforming ability.
Mini-Review: Could have used a bit more character development, but other than than its a fine viral outbreak movie.
Mini-Review: In a series of films better off watched with friends than alone, this ranks up there pretty high for a prequel.
Mini-Review: It seems like Southerners should complain a lot more about how they're portrayed in movies....
