Mini-Review: AWESOME! WHOA! ORGASMIC! CREAM IN TEH JEANS! BLOW YA MIND! HEART ATTACK! RELEVANT! SMART! I CANT THINK STRAIGHT!
Mini-Review: Great performances carry an overly quirky first hour, and add more to a heartfelt final third.
Mini-Review: Raimi is back in top form.
Mini-Review: Racial stereotypes and occasional sexism can't put the leash on a loose dog. This one runs and runs, and in it's prime, it's a beast to be awed, while in others, it's a bore.
Mini-Review: Ambitious, often subtly hilarious homage that contains influences ranging from Casablanca to Mission Impossible, held together by dialogue which is witty and frightening in equal measure. At my showing, the director and a film critic did a Q&A, and I'm definitely glad I went. Although only a couple people mentioned Brick, the director was very easy-going and often quite sarcastic. Devin Faraci from CHUD, the panel moderator, added an extra healthy dose of sarcasm to the mix.
Mini-Review: WOW, WHOA, and AWESOME!
Mini-Review: I liked it. It's an acquired taste definitely, but I appreciated it's honest portrayal of ignorance at it's most detrimental.
Mini-Review: Joyful and thought-provoking, a pretty weird but unique combination that this film accomplishes without seeming desperate.
