Mini-Review: A blatant reactionary film to Guantanamo, with all the faults that come with it. Throw in a bullshit twist ending, pepper with some decent performances, and you have Rendition.
Mini-Review: Poirot is really fun throughout the film. The mystery itself is interesting, but nothing especially sensational (I would venture to say it's even a bit silly). The acting is all-around good, and it takes the time to introduce us to its colorful cast before the titular death.
Mini-Review: Drops most of the psychological scares the film had, and the climax is laughable, but acting is good and it's well directed. Probably won't scare anyone today, but there are some creepy moments and the film is dark enough to still be salvageable today.
Mini-Review: This sort of animation always slips into the uncanny valley, and this film does so several times. On top of that, a fairly original and dark premise is made unimpressive and the motivations of the villainess are completely brushed over. That, and it falls victim to the sort of logic most kids movies seem to have these days.
