80 Fat City (1972) - Jan 27, 2012
Mini-Review: One of the best boxing movies. Great performances.
0 Les hautes solitudes (1974) - Apr 09, 2011
Mini-Review: It might be a bit better if you can lip read. But come to think of it why should I be hanging on every word some actress is saying? I mean she could be talking about hanging out the washing for all we know.
50 Medium Cool (1969) - Nov 06, 2011
Mini-Review: This got on my nerves after a while.
65 The Forty-first (1956) - Feb 01, 2012
Mini-Review: On the plus side it's visually striking and well staged. On the minus side it features an uninvolving story and an unconvincing romance. Plus the ending's pretty silly.
75 Essential Killing (2010) - Dec 23, 2011
Mini-Review: Pretty good film, well-shot, but with some serious flaws. Reminded me of the vastly superior Czech film Diamonds of The Night.
40 The Nutty Professor (1963) - Aug 07, 2011
Mini-Review: It's solidly directed but as an actor Jerry Lewis is either your cup of tea or he isn't. Give me coffee any day.
50 Limitless (2011) - Dec 18, 2011
Mini-Review: The most amazing thing about this film is how much stock is placed on great hair.
65 Possession (1981) - Oct 22, 2011
Mini-Review: What the fuck...?
0 J. Edgar (2011) - Feb 28, 2012
Mini-Review: I don't need to watch some turgid, washed out, achingly dull Oscar bait movie to know that J. Edgar Hoover was an evil little scumbag. Then again Eastwood isn't in any hurry to point this out. Woefully misguided, and painfully tedious to sit through. Come on Clint, give it up - nobody's interested anymore.
80 Alone Across the Pacific (1963) - Jul 11, 2011
Mini-Review: A fine film that shows how driven some people can be. I found the main character to be quite a complex fellow, and that's what I found interesting; his obsessive attention to detail is at odds with his often haphazard behaviour. He's a bit of a dreamer who doesn't seem to live in the real world, but he has enough grit and tenacity to get the job done. Technically, the film is solid and features some great camerawork.
