Mini-Review: Extremely solid adaptation of Tolkein's work.
Mini-Review: Based on the Mike Mignola comic series of the same title, this largely faithfull and worthwhile adaptation is a decent effort. Ron Perlman heads up the cast as the title character and does an excellent job in bringing the red skinned goliath to life.
Mini-Review: Offbeat and Quirky, this movie dealing with the seedy side of Children's television isn't for everyone, but is realatively entertaining. Edward Norton and Robin Williams turn in good performances.
Mini-Review: Non stop action! Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have tremendous on screen chemistry and it really makes this movie work.
Mini-Review: One of the best action/spy movies I've ever seen. Matt Damon turns in a great performance as an amnesiac superspy evading capture by his own people. A more serious James Bond for the modern era.
Mini-Review: Another comic book adaptation. Based on the popular Hellblazer series, this movie changes the location from England to LA along with the nationality of the title character, John Constantine. Reeves turns in a typically wooden performance. Decent special effects are unable to lift this movie above the convoluted plot and charisma-less lead.
Mini-Review: They don't even bother to call it Friday the 13th anymore. This is another boring by-the-numbers slasher flick of the type that should have gone out of style a decade before. It has the additionaly stupidity of being set in outerspace (JASON IN SPACE! OMG!!!) . This movie is mind-numbingly stupid. Jason should have killed the director and spared the rest of us from this dreck. Congratulations to anyone who has not seen this film, keep up the good work! It gets a 40 for the production valu
Mini-Review: A movie about intelligent sharks savaging people...thumbs up in my book. The movie scores points for being a tad unpredictable, several deaths were quite unexpected. It's fairly standard, but entertaining.
Mini-Review: An interesting if somewhat confusing Sci-Fi/Horror romp. There appear to be Lovecraftian overtones, but this flick never really delivers. Good effects and atmosphere, but I expected more out of a cast with both Sam Neil and Laurence Fishburn.
Mini-Review: One of the best movies I've ever seen, and it's based on a true story. A gripping account of the injustice served upon an Irish family when they are falsely accused of the Guilford pub bombing. One of the few movies I've watched multiple times. Danial Day-Lewis and Pete Postlethwaite head up a stellar cast.
