Mini-Review: At first I thought it was like an upgraded version of The Matrix trilogy, but then I figured out it is actually much less. But still, very much, if not even more entertaining - I was indeed left wanting more after the end.
Mini-Review: I find it more or less ridiculous, but yet I adore all the symbolism, great ideas, couple of lines and things it manages to mock! And I just love Baron Munchausen as a character - so ironical, so both behind and ahead of his time. Had it been a bit shorter, I'd give it a higher score.
Mini-Review: Jeunet and Caro create another grotesque, dark and cruel world, where love is hard to be found. Outstanding acting, great photography, superb soundtrack. And above it all, an amazing story about people(some good, some bad), searching happiness - may that for them be love, power and money or 'just' dreams.
Mini-Review: It really presents us some great characters, but what it lacks most of the time is some 'momentum', it doesn't feel relaxed enough - it actually looks like an overweight man trying to do gymnastics - a bit forced and completely unnecessary . If they managed to polish the idea of random people being connected through random events(which has naturally already been done before, and quite well also), this could be really good.
Mini-Review: It's really good, this one. Wikipedia wants me to think it's a crime film but I remember seeing a brilliant mix of family drama and black comedy. It ranges from drama and suspense we saw in 'The Sopranos' to brutal comedy we enjoyed in 'Man Bites Dog'. I also absolutely adored the soundtrack
Mini-Review: I didn't really find myself enjoying it at times, but I must mention the simple but yet nicely crafted revenge plan I absoluteley adored. Park's look on punishment and revenge presented not only in this film, but throughout the whole trilogy, is interesting in two ways: in the sense of a message and also visually - I liked how ruthless the bad and the 'good' guys are. Despite not ranking them especially high, I recommend the three films to anyone.
Mini-Review: Some guys sit in a bar and talk about(and then also do some) time travel. Doing that, they mess some shit up. Enjoyable pop flick, that has an awesome beginning(loved some references) but a less awesome 2nd half. Too bad
Mini-Review: Refreshing, I guess? After what set off to be (a great) thriller with some quite funny lines, the movie suddenly turned into a comedy for a while. But I can't say I didn't like it. The romantic relationship that comes out of it all, and the way it comes to it actually is both thrilling and funny. Some things should be developed more though - some of wife's actions seemed in no relation to plot whatsoever and left me totally baffled, for example. I should re-watch it. I recommend
Mini-Review: Too bad, really. Movie had the opportunity to be at least decent; I mean it in a way that Potter as well had it and took it. The producers have, instead of being thankful for all the hype and saying 'We should really do a good movie, let's get a good director etc; and money should be no problem to us,people will go see it, and we'll get the money back', said 'Let's make a crap movie, people will still go see it and we'll make loads of money!'. Liked Aro though =)
Mini-Review: Liked it a lot, but was kind of confused.I got the feeling as if the film didn't know what it wants to be - a story for kids or something more. There were some great things about it, that really got to me(first 10 minutes of the film for example, marvellous!), but sometimes it felt...well, silly. But after all, a child's mind is kind of silly - I remembered the stories I used to make up in my mind as a kid.
