Mini-Review: Oh, come on everybody...you knew it wasn't going to be "The Exorcist." Everything bad about this was done on purpose, and so expertly on purpose. Bravo to all. On the other hand, it still could have been light years better. I hope the sequel outshines this.
Mini-Review: I will grant that Dee Snider isn't going to win any acting awards...ever. That being said, this movie wasn't as bad as people make it out to be. It definitely could have been a lot better, but it tackles the whole "modern primitive shock value" horror genre niche pretty well. I'd recommend that someone watch it.
Mini-Review: Such a good concept...such poor execution. Why should I care about a protagonist who is complicit in all the horrible stuff the antagonist does? Because the "bad guy" has crazy eyes and the "good guy" doesn't? Give me a break. Oh, and you can't distract me with a sex scene every 15 minutes either. I'm onto you.
Mini-Review: Even if this movie ended as a snuff film killing everyone involved, I still would feel a sense of injustice for having watched it. This couldn't even be deemed enjoyable if you were trying to watch a bad film for the sake of watching a bad film. It is that bad.
Mini-Review: A Chuck Palahniuk story stripped of everything that makes it a Chuck Palahniuk story makes it a story about next to nothing. This is like if you watched Fight Club without any of Ed Norton's narration or any pieces of dialogue that run over twenty words.
Mini-Review: Liam Neeson just maiming and killing people for 2/3 of the movie is a pretty good movie. It's not going to go down in the annals of film history as a cinematic masterpiece, but it's still fun to watch.
Mini-Review: I didn't totally dislike it. I think it was pretty tightly packaged story and character-wise. There were some decent effects, and the undead characters were well-crafted. Given all that, it did seem like more could have definitely been done with the premise.
Mini-Review: Definitely one of the more fun episodes of Masters of Horror. A bit overacted in parts by "The Washingtonians," but it really doesn't detract too much from an interesting premise.
Mini-Review: It was billed as "the first horror film to use real human corpses." And that's about all that there is to talk about with regards to this film.
