Mini-Review: Has some great moments but simply, there is not enough material to carry the movie through its 170 minute span. Despite the fact that I like this type of movies where everything is based on acting and dialogue, I got bored somewhere close to the second hour.
Mini-Review: Interesting look at the future. Coulda been better if the plot had some extra material to carry the movie forward on other than the gene code obsession. Detective being the brother of the "borrowed ladder" was kinda cheap coincidence. Sounded almost like a B-class Turkish movie. And the meeting scene of brothers lacked grip. Nice movie nonetheless. Not your ordinary flick.
Mini-Review: One of the two best heist movies along with Heat I have ever seen only this one was engineered in 1955. Sadly the heist movies of today are all flawed and depend mostly on jumping thru the laser lines in the vault room or overriding voice recognition coded, finger print coded security systems and a lame love story.
The heist directots of today who can't understand why they fail to build proper tension and emotion despite such scenes, should study Rififi first.
