Mini-Review: Much like Equilibrium, V for Vendetta is a stylish depiction of a struggle against totalitarian power. Take or leave what you will from the interesting political questions it raises, this film has a good script, quality performances from Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving, and terrific action sequences.
Mini-Review: From the same guy who directed Batman Begins (and also starring two of the same actors, Christian Bale and Michael Caine), The Prestige captured my interest and held it the entire runtime. Hugh Jackman and David Bowie round out an excellent cast, and the depiction of two magicians' escalating rivalry makes for good drama and suspense. With a liberal dose of twists and turns, this is the kind of movie I wish I could go back and experience again for the first time. All I can say is, enjoy it!
