68 Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures (2001) - Feb 10, 2012
Mini-Review: too much praise, too little nuance.
82 Caché (2005) - Feb 09, 2012
Mini-Review: fresh, tasteful and stylistically strong cinematography. terrific acting and atmosphere. really interesting plot, but couldve needed just a little bit higher pace.
72 Sideways (2004) - Feb 08, 2012
Mini-Review: some pretty nice unpretentious feel good stuff. could have lost a few tens of minutes.
72 Nostalghia (1983) - Feb 05, 2012
Mini-Review: beautifully shot and a very strong first half. ends up way too meandering and incomprehensible for my taste.
69 Tess (1979) - Feb 03, 2012
Mini-Review: nattasia is pretty as a day. that was about the only thing that interested me.
86 Manhattan (1979) - Feb 02, 2012
Mini-Review: witty, beautiful and emotive.
69 The Breakfast Club (1985) - Jan 30, 2012
71 Midnight in Paris (2011) - Jan 29, 2012
Mini-Review: balanced surprisingly well between charm and cheese for the first half, although it eventually weighed over to the latter. the final scene still made me smile though.
69 Enter the Void (2010) - Jan 27, 2012
Mini-Review: ambitious? yes. enjoyable? not really. lacked alot of what made irreversible so special. overly long and didnt really prove or evoke much thought or emotion in me. the relationship between the siblings is sure handled with some finesse, but overall the movie simply needed to lose one hour and have the plot freshened up before I could raise my my rating.
67 Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy (2011) - Jan 25, 2012
Mini-Review: nah, didnt really do anything for me.
