Mini-Review: An interesting idea with very poor executing, mainly in the writing. The main character is a Mary Sue who never does anything wrong and doesn't learn anything over the course of the film (other than that he was right all along). The plot meanders through different contrivances without much of an overall point, and the attempts at cleverness along the way fall flat. Chris Cooper, Kurt Russell, and Christopher Lloyd all give good performances but can't save the film.
Mini-Review: An amazing story told in an interesting way, especially considering that the actual event in question was only captured in a few still photos.
Mini-Review: An uneven but interesting classic sci-fi film. Michael Crichton's bad directing hurts the film, mostly in the form of awkward pacing. Yul Brynner has by far the best performance as the evil gunslinger robot, James Brolin is good in his role, and Richard Benjamin is passable, otherwise the ensemble cast isn't noteworthy. Overall it seems like there are around 20 minutes of a great film, and the rest is filler.
Mini-Review: The premise sounds like a cross between Mad Max and Blade Runner, but it's solid b-movie material. Bill Paxton and Mark Hamill are decent in their roles, but it takes a while for the film to get going, and once it does it never really reaches a satisfying conclusion. Skip this one and watch Cherry 2000 instead (never thought I would give that advice).
Mini-Review: Fails on nearly every level. Aside from the CGI scenes, nearly the entire film is a just the main characters trying to look concerned about impending shark/octopus attacks.
