Mini-Review: It's a great movie even if it doesn't feel like it, maybe wrong pacing, bit predictable? Anyway, it is solid in every respect (that even includes DiCaprio's casting and his acting). Looking back it seems as if Freud directed the movie, so many references and allusions to Interpretations of Dreams and so on, therefore I can understand why someone won't like it - especially dream scenes can come of as corny etc. Great Kubrick-like soundtrack from the likes of Max Richter, John Cage etc.
Mini-Review: Better or at least funnier than Gamer, Schwarzenegger running around in a tight, yellow Adidas jumpsuit - but since Gamer sucks big time that doesn't mean it's masterpiece. It's funny how in the end everyone cheers just the same, it's just entertainment broadcast on TV, how Schwarezenegger deals with Killian is no different for them how Killian dealt with him.
Mini-Review: Some supporting actors are very bad and distracting, but this is a movie with a very simple storyline, but really made special because of if its cast. Especially Akbag's screen persona is so strong the scenes in which she merely stands are much funnier than the scenes without her. Hated the gay stereotypical manager used as a cardboard comic prop, such a shame that it contrasts Akbag's strong, independent female character but still highly recommended.
Mini-Review: A dark comedy set in a Turkish rural city, "kasaba". While not without its faults it is very good, especially in contrast to other lame comedies - also this films probably contains the most "evil", selfish character ever seen in a Turkish movie, making it unique. Can't give a higher score because of its clear resemblance to Fargo. I love the ending, how happiness differs for two closely related characters (i.e. husband & wife).
Mini-Review: Very predictable if you happen to look at your watch. The first half is funny as a corporate version of 25th Hour and Fight Club, but later on it drags and turns into these shitty fake Indian, Zen quotes about life etc. Read somewhere that the random fired people did think that they were being interviewed for a documentary, "nice touch".
Mini-Review: I have all the love for black music, and the performances were really good whenever the script was decent enough, sadly the script is nothing new nor any good.
Mini-Review: Loved the meadows, and the social drama parts but the revenge and supernatural bits didn't really mean much.
Mini-Review: Loose plot, bad jokes. Terrible co-actors and actresses.
Mini-Review: I watched this a couple of years back, and still can't forget it. It was such an eerie experience, I respect Schroeder for even walking side by side with that "man". You must see this if you watched/or planning to "Last King of Scotland".
