Mini-Review: The type of grotesque type of animation with a very different type of hero and funny parts that make you chuckle. This would make cyclist laugh their heads of, most definitely, if they are true cyclists, because the entire focus of the young man who should be saved was on cycling. His loving grandmother was the most supporting and loving person I've seen--even with her annoying whistle :). A strange scene of the fantastic, will definitely give you a breath of fresh of for something different.
Mini-Review: The beginning definitely got to me, and immediately told you what this story was going to teach. This one isn't for everyone, but it tells a tale of a woman who must be subjugated to violence because of the choices of customs. Most of the film is about just this--the violence directed towards her. It beats you over the head with it, and with reason. The ending wasn't quite believable, but it told of the destructive fate of mankind's evil. A thoughtful tale and "moral of the story" type of film.
Mini-Review: The animation, like others have mentioned was AWESOME! However, something just kept it very, very boring. Not for us US Americans, but it would appeal more to our counter-parts overseas. The music doesn't go quite with anything on the screen, and the story, though "ideally" fun for an adventure, isn't carried out with the feeling of adventure at all. Such a waste of what could have been a great movie, especially with great animation. Such a shame.
Mini-Review: The opera song (E lucevan le stelle (The stars were brightly shining) from the opera "Tosca" by Giacomo Puccini) made this for me. That was the topping of the cake! What a great inspirational movie. If you're done, this will definitely lift you UP!
Mini-Review: Though I'm getting a bit worn out with So Much action packed films, this one had comedy that kept me laughing. I really liked the fact that each character held their own and not a single one was left in the background. They all held strong to their characters and each shown just as brightly. We can even connect to each one's weakness and strength and can feel them. Definitely a Must See. Quite enjoyed it. And worth the movie ticket price :)
Mini-Review: Not for kids, and not for those who don't like slow, but beautiful themes and music. This story would not have worked with "real" people, so the use of marionettes worked wonderful with this film. I quite enjoyed the imagery and how cruelty begets cruelty. As well as how winning a war could have it's downfalls. The love between man and woman, woman and child, and siblings were quite feeling. This is a definite LIKE in my book.
