Mini-Review: Great performance by Philip Seymour Hoffmann redeems this film from being a predictable rom com.
Mini-Review: Bloody brilliant! Dark-black humour with great performances. Bale's psycho is a self-involved pretty boy who loves Phil Collins and just can't help himself. A hilarious indictment of the Reagan years, much better than the unreadable book it's based on.
Mini-Review: Embarassing - as Kate Winslet says 'You are guaranteed an Oscar if you play a mental'. A really offensive interpretation of mental illness and I could not believe this won the Best Picture Oscar. Yuck.
Mini-Review: Unwatchable acting exercise. Even the vistas of Paris were not enough to make me listen to these two boring actors doing that whole finish-each-others-sentences thing.
Mini-Review: Why was this movie made?
