94 97% Finding Nemo (2003) - Rated 18 Aug 2009
"Exceptional brilliant movie about an overprotective father fish who overcomes all kinds of obstacles so that his only surviving child can be found. Though mentally traumatized by the loss of his wife and kids, his paternal instinct gets him through dangers and obstacles. A brilliant father-son movie and a good family entertainer. A definite must watch."
90 77% Ratatouille (2007) - Rated 18 Aug 2009
"A wonderful animation about a rat who loves to cook and decides to hide behind the curtains to help a human while achieving his dreams. A brilliant comedy and family entertainer. Loved the romantic part too."
87 47% Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) - Rated 18 Aug 2009
"Another of Johnny Depp's brilliant transformations in a book adaptation that has inspired children for ages. Charlie is not the true protagonist as Johnny Depp steals the limelight with his portrayal of an eccentric magic chocolate factory owner who doesn't understand family and other wordly ties of blood, love and friendship, purely because he is confused."
89 63% School of Rock (2003) - Rated 18 Aug 2009
"An awesome movie starring Jack Black as someone who inspires a class of budding musicians to do what they didn't believe they had the capacity to do, even though it was a part of their dreams. It is a comedy of errors along with a good dose of inspiration. There is also some good rock, but calling it a musical would be a misnomer"
84 30% Monster House (2006) - Rated 18 Aug 2009
"A well made movie about a kid stuck at home and noticing strange things in the neighbourhood. There is a good mixture of childhood crush, friendship, crazy oldies, untrusting parents, urban legends all spread out to make a family movie with a good touch of comedy. Mystery and thrills are also a good part of the equation for this excellent animation movie."
85 36% Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) - Rated 18 Aug 2009
"Harry Potter returns in this darker and more mature book of the series. Compared to the previous 2 movies, this one is not a happy-happy-joy-joy story. Bad things happen and they are brilliantly portrayed. A more mature movie than the first two. The continuity of the movie series is jerky at places as some characters have been changed and for an example, the innkeeper at the Diagon Alley place has been changed into a hunchback in a futile attempt at comedy. The special effects are quite good."
93 88% Monsters, Inc. (2001) - Rated 18 Aug 2009
"An excellent comedy which tickles the imagination and lets the child in you squeal in delight to know that there were really monsters under our bed, but that they were not bad monsters, scaring you is their job and it is essential that they do it for their survival and is not with any ill-will in mind"
90 77% Cars (2006) - Rated 18 Aug 2009
"A funny, thought-provoking animation about youngsters and oldies, which helps us understand why there exists a generation gap and why it should be closed. The personification of the cars has been done brilliantly with some scenes making us forget that cars are not people too."
69 8% I Am Legend (2007) - Rated 18 Aug 2009
"A nice concept with a brilliant actor, but somehow slow moving. I expected a faster pace and more innovation by the protagonist for his survival. Though the adaptation is from an excellent book, the final product lacks something which I cannot place my finger on."
75 13% Ultraviolet (2006) - Rated 18 Aug 2009
"Yet another sci-fi movie with a female protagonist that gives it good eye-candy value. The cinematography is quite creative and the visuals are quite good. Special effects are nice to watch, but the eye candy is better. The fight scenes are nicely choreographed. The storyline is not as solid as I would like, but forgivable anyway."
