Mini-Review: Nothing will compare to the book, however this version is better than Kubrick's because it allows for more open interpretations (as to whether or not the narrator is a pedophile, whether Lolita is a "nymphet," etc). Kubrick's is a bit too facetious, although Nabokov did help in the production of Kubrick's version.
Mini-Review: Perfect combination of action, drama, comedy. If you watch it now, you probably won't think much of the graphics, but they were unparalleled in 1997.
Mini-Review: Strange, but good. His stories are always nearly touching (just a bit of aloofness and disconnection between the viewer and the movie).
Mini-Review: Great Story. Can be compared to Hitchcock's Vertigo, or the style of story-telling in Wang Kar Wai's films.
Mini-Review: Very real story about the arbitrariness of those thrown into a war.
Mini-Review: Very nice aesthetics. Cute love story. Adam Sandler was wonderful in it.
