91 Stalag 17 (1953) - Jan 24, 2010
Mini-Review: A great entertainment. The characters play their role to perfection and you can almost feel the chemistry among the inmates in the prison camp. The portrayal of the german officers is more comical than anything else. It fits in well with the movie intending to be a war comedy. It is one of the very few WW2 movies that dos not leave you feeling all sympathetic and pitiful at the end. You really enjoy the humor and an underlying suspense that keeps you guessing till the end.
80 The Mask of Zorro (1998) - Aug 25, 2010
Mini-Review: A blend of everything in this movie - action, romance, tragedy, and some deep sentiments here and there. Catherine Zeta Jones looks as gorgeous as ever, and does a decent job keeping the various fragments of the story strung together. The story itself has nothing awe inspiring in it, and is a typical villain-hero theme with a backdrop of romance. A pleasantly happy ending for all, leaves you in good spirits at the end, with a feeling of 2 hours well spent.
90 The Princess Bride (1987) - Aug 25, 2010
Mini-Review: I can't believe I hadn't watched this movie till now. A typical rich girl - poor boy romance portrayed to perfection. The settings and the cinematography is perfect too. In the fantasy world of Florin, and with Buttercup and Westley, its easy to forget where you are for a whole 90 min. But don't be fooled its not just something for children; its like those classics of Alladin and Rupenzel, which never get old. In fact it brought back sweet memories of my early childhood story-listening days.
