Mini-Review: The lavish art direction and dazzling costumes don't make up for a lack of substance and banal acting. Catherine Zeta Jones winning the Oscar over Meryl Streep in "Adaptation" was a huge mistake. Not to mention, it is one of the worst best picture awarded films in history.
Mini-Review: I left before the film ended. It was awful.
Mini-Review: An impressive follow up to "Memento." Robin Williams and Al Pacino are superb, though the film lacks the tight story telling Nolan wove previously. It plays like an extended episode of a primetime crime drama.
Mini-Review: Burton let me down on "Corpse Bride." Essentially a collage of earlier Burton films, "Corpse Bride" seems tired and repetitive.
Mini-Review: I didn't expect much. The visuals are interesting, even though the story seems just as cold as the weather.
Mini-Review: How does this honestly appeal to any viewer over the age of 9? Skip it.
Mini-Review: I can't imagine kids really swooning over this film. Mike Meyers was a little too over the top. Dr. Seuss is best in books and the occasional animated Christmas classic.
Mini-Review: The film is too pretentious for its own good. Mendes needs to focus more, as he did with "American Beauty." The one upside to the film is Paul Newman's fearless performance. But, honestly, that's expected from the seasoned veteran.
Mini-Review: The film would be better if Dakota Fanning wasn't involved. She is the worst thing to happen to film.
Mini-Review: A fun movie to watch, especially the Paris Hilton death scene. Just fluffy silliness, harmlessly gory.
