Mini-Review: Kicks the crap out of almost any other horror movies released this decade. Masterfully paced, this film ratchets up the tension from beginning to end. It leaves you feeling drained afterward, in a good way though.
Mini-Review: Other than Casino Royale, easily the most mature James Bond film. Bond, in a way that no other film (except the aforementioned Casino Royale) is characterized with depth and complexity, In this film, Bond is not simply 007, he is a human, which is always a breath of fresh air in an action film. Of course, the action is handled very well, especially in the last 30 minutes, but it is the depth that truly makes the movie. Too bad that George Lazenby is easily the weakest Bond to date.
Mini-Review: More movies could have benefited from this much Peter Lorre.
Mini-Review: Wickedly funny and solidly scary as well. Not a masterclass of terror, but the humor more than makes up for it.
Mini-Review: If you think you'll like this, you probably will. Not exactly the most in-depth of a review, but probably better for it.
Mini-Review: Not exactly a laugh-out-loud experience, but it is also highly insightful, clever, witty, and consistently "humorous".
Mini-Review: It isn't helped by comparison to the John Carpenter remake( a rare occasion in which a film isn't helped by comparisons to the remake), but it is still, in its own right, a suspenseful science fiction film.
