Mini-Review: This was the first old silent film I really watched... I have no idea how to rate it or anything because of that. It was fun. I enjoyed how they made up for their lack of special effects and whatnot. Of course films have evolved, but I would imagine this is genius for its time!

Mini-Review: I gave in and saw it before reading the books... so I can't make comparisons of any sort. It was extremely intense (though I have a tendency to get attached to situations and characters incredibly quickly). I wasn't bored for a second. Contrary to the mini-reviews I'm reading, I thought the camera work and editing added to the intensity. Also, the setting was immediately interesting to me.
