Mini-Review: Loved the voice work from Gerard Butler and Craig Ferguson, and the animation was stunning . . . not quite as lovable as a Pixar flick, but I was thoroughly entertained. The only thing that kept bugging me was that Toothless seemed to look exactly like (and had the exact mannerisms as) Stitch from Disney.
Mini-Review: The movie picks up years after where Toy Story 2 left off, and Andy's toys find themselves without much use without anyone to play with them. Overall, the Pixar team did a fantastic job drawing me back into the storyline - even more so than Toy Story 2. Heartwarming and several lines had me laughing hysterically - essentially, this was the perfect ending to the trilogy . . . despite leaving the plot open for a fourth, if they wanted to. Great movie.
Mini-Review: The movie presented very well introducing conceptual ideas within the sci-fi realm . . . although there were definitely some points that made me want to watch it again to get the full understanding now that I know the ending. Although the first half of the movie moved really fast, the director seems to explain points later. Overall, the visual aspects are what make the movie compelling - it was an absolutely stunning film to watch.
Mini-Review: Interesting adaptation turning the play in more of a modern setting; the beginning was a bit rough, but Shakespeare really shines through in the second half of the movie.
Mini-Review: I had forgotten what a moving film this was - Williams' character is quirky but lovable and De Niro does a fantastic job making you feel for Lenard's condition . . . by the end of the film, I was really drawn into the story.
Mini-Review: An interesting perspective through the view of the terrorist - I almost wanted him to succeed at the end of the movie! Very thought-provoking, despite the stereotypical cop that Harrison played.
Mini-Review: Russell Crowe played a very believable character; I was generally inspired by his courage and integrity throughout the movie. Ben's character was great at first, but then slowly fell into a 'politician's worst nightmare' scenario - which, although believable was a bit of a stretch and seemed tedious to watch near the end.
