Mini-Review: I think I must be in love with the "Americanised" early/mid 20c view of Greece. One day (when i get enough disposable income), this and Zorba the Greek will be in my collection!

Mini-Review: Grotesque story where all characters are driven by desire. If you watch this, I would strongly recommend watching the shorter version, which comes as part one of "3 extremes". The shorter version is a lot more suspenseful and does away with unnecessary details (unless you like to have everything spelled out for you). That said, a few more details in this version showed that Mr Li and Mrs Li (Qing) were as amoral as each other. Plus the endings (appropriate to each version) are quite different.
