| 70 T8 | Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) - Apr 28, 2013
"I think the word 'romp' was invented to describe this film. It plays fast and loose with historical accuracy, but who cares when it's so much fun? Jaw-droppingly gorgeous from start to finish, it's pretty much the perfect summer blockbuster. It's hokey and clichéd and probably too long, but it never fails to be entertaining. It owes a lot to LucasArts' Monkey Island games though. Probably the best videogame movie of all time, even if it never acknowledges the game it owes its heritage to."

| 75 T8 | The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974) - Apr 28, 2013
"A great hostage movie, full of 70s New York cynicism and believable characters. It's a slow burner that gradually draws you in to its story. It underpins the hostage situation with some great characters and a vein of black humour. There are some moments that seem politically incorrect today, but they just reflect attitudes at the time. The Die Hard movies owe a huge debt to this film, and I can't think of better praise than that."

| 10 T2 | Battle for Terra (2007) - Apr 28, 2013
"An hour and a half of CGI that might have been acceptable for a late 90s washing powder commercial, but has no place in a 2007 film. Combine that with bland characterization and a clichéd story and there's nothing on offer here. It's hard to buy into the eco-friendly message when the entire alien homeworld looks like it was made of shiny plastic, populated by plastic characters."
|
| 20 T3 | Push (2009) - Apr 28, 2013
"A real mess. It's trying to reinvent the superhero movie but does so in such a poorly-scripted mess of ideas that it just doesn't work. The story will have you screaming at the screen over all the gaping plot holes that are instantly apparent. It's baffling that such a story could make it to million-dollar production without anyone ever reading the screenplay and going "hold on, this makes no sense at all"."

| 1 T1 | Paranormal Activity 4 (2012) - Apr 28, 2013
"SHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHIT"
|
| 5 T1 | Paranormal Activity 3 (2011) - Apr 28, 2013
"Utter shit. A real example of Hollywood's ability to leech onto something remotely profitable and suck all the life and creativity out of it until all that remains is a hollow husk of the original."
|
| 10 T2 | Paranormal Activity 2 (2010) - Apr 28, 2013
"The original wasn't really good enough to warrant a sequel. It was a one-trick pony that a lot of people seemed to like. This stinks of a rushed cash-in based on the unexpected success of the original. It's really just the same film again, but more bad than before."
|
| 40 T5 | Monsters vs. Aliens (2009) - Apr 28, 2013
"A bit of a waste. The B-movie premise had a lot of potential with a genre right for parody. This doesn't really deliver. There's a few laughs to be found and the animation is pretty nice, but it's pretty forgettable nonsense that doesn't make the most of its source material."
|
| 70 T8 | Monsters, Inc. (2001) - Apr 28, 2013
"Not the best Pixar film by a long shot, but even the basic idea behind it is more imaginative than most kids' films. Filled with the usual Pixar elements of great characters, a decent story and lots of genuine laughs. Where other animation studios make movies designed by committee to appeal to kid demographics, Pixar make films that appeal on a basic level to the kid in all of us."
|
| 1 T1 | The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure (2012) - Apr 28, 2013
"Utterly horrifying. Everyone responsible clearly hates the idea of childhood and has set out to destroy the minds of as many kids as possible."
