60 Along Came Polly (2004) - Aug 13, 2007
Mini-Review: I want to like this movie - I really do. It stars to very likeable leads in Hollywood - no matter what they say. Jennifer Anniston is a leading lady already. She plays a quirky girl who marches to her own drum who helps Ben Stiller break out of his comfort-zone shell. In return he gives her stability. Opposites attract. Hilarity ensues. It wins you over with its charm, but a little too saccharin. Again, I want to like it, but it's too darn sweet.
88 Bruce Almighty (2003) - Aug 13, 2007
Mini-Review: Really enjoyed this movie, although I wasn't sure at first. Got a bit overhanded toward the end, but still a very good balance of goofy and emotion.
68 Cruel Intentions (1999) - Aug 13, 2007
85 Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004) - Aug 13, 2007
Mini-Review: Wholly unbelievable - and that's what makes this movie work. Vince Vaughn does his best straight man amid a cast of looneys, including a hillariously doofy Ben Stiller as his nemesis. Again, just fun.
89 Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) - Aug 13, 2007
Mini-Review: I really liked this movie, but its darker overtones really shook me at times. Great direction, good storytelling, exceptional acting. Very good movie
25 Gigli (2003) - Aug 13, 2007
Mini-Review: I could not sit through this waste of a film. The charming and affable Ben Affleck comes across as dumb as a post and twice as grating with his "authentic" Noo Yawk accent. I generally like his acting, but please, when I think Wiseguy - the last guy I think of is Affleck. Oh yeah, Jennifer Lopez is in this too - as if I needed to disclose that.
87 Guess Who (2005) - Aug 13, 2007
Mini-Review: I liked the chemistry between Ashton Kutcher and Bernie Mac, who I'm really beginning to appreciate as an actor.
65 The Incredibles (2004) - Aug 13, 2007
Mini-Review: This wasn't as good as everyonesaid it was - perhaps I was expecting too much. I just didn't get the emotional tug that I now come to expect from what is the Pixar juggernaut. The characters were okay, and yes they had flaws for being superheroes, but I just coldn't relate - and that's what I expected. Sorry Pixar. Not today.
75 Legally Blonde (2001) - Aug 13, 2007
Mini-Review: I enjoyed this more than the sequel. It was smarter and less preachy. But just as engaging.
75 Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde (2003) - Aug 13, 2007
Mini-Review: I actually enjoyed this movie more than the original, I think in part to the earnestness that Reese Witherspoon plays Elle Woods. She is the champion of never let anything get in your way of doing it, even if everyone thinks you're unqualified. Especially when you are SO not. Or don't know it. Turn your brain off, enjoy.
