Mini-Review: If you watch a Jennifer Anistor romantic comedy movie and expect anything more than this, then its just very naive of you. Its actually nice to watch, the child in the movie is incredibly cute and talented and Bateman delivers a very good performance. I would not watch it again, but if you are looking for a nice, easy and predictable and undemanding movie: this should do it.
Mini-Review: Good comedy, nice to watch but nothing extraordinary (but no comedy really is extraordinary, its a very hard genre!)
Mini-Review: Very good considering its a fast and a furious movie. If you don't expect or demand anything the movie can be considered "very good". Its a good and solid blockbuster, but not very smart and the cars could have been better, too!
Mini-Review: I only watched this movie because of Meryl Streep. I am very sorry, but this movie is just awful. The acting is bad, the writing is even worse and I would not have thought it possible to have such poor directing in a movie starring Uma Thurman and Meryl Streep. Having one good idea (a therapist whose patient is sleeping with her son) should not justify producing an entire film! The 10 I give are only fore Meryl Streep.
Mini-Review: Incredible acting. Meryl Streep is perfect. I am German, and her German accent is so incredible! I have never heard an American speak such a perfect German before! The story is just overwhelmingly touching and probably the most dramatic one I have ever seen. The way the story is told (the author compared it to peeling an onion) is very interesting and adds greatly to the story. Wooooooow!
Mini-Review: The acting (Portman) is of course superb. The story, however, is greatly overrated (or at least I expected something much, much better considering the Oscar-Buzz). I wouldn't actually recommend.
Mini-Review: The movie is actually very funny from time to time, which is probably the only reason it is still above 50. It is a blockbuster with special effects and good acting from Natalie Portman, but I find the story extremely poor (a blockbuster MUST have an exciting end battle. Thor's finally fight scene is a pure joke, especially on the story level). Considering the possibilities such a production budget offers, I was very disappointed.
