81 The Road Warrior (1981) - Nov 25, 2009
75 The Blind Side (2009) - Nov 25, 2009
Mini-Review: Very good uplifting inspirational movie. Sandra Bullock gives a strong performance. It was better than I thought it would be. One of the more effective films of it's kind.
85 Scarface (1983) - Nov 25, 2009
71 The Godfather: Part III (1990) - Nov 21, 2009
100 The Godfather (1972) - Nov 21, 2009
94 Once Upon a Time in America (1984) - Nov 21, 2009
Mini-Review: Serves as a perfect example of how adept and proficient Sergio Leone was as a director. I thought this movie would be more like a sweeping epic gangster movie similar to The Godfather. In a way it is, but more often than not it isn't. The two movies frequently contrast and differ with each other. I'm not sure if it's even fair to compare the two because the two films are aiming to accomplish different agendas and both follow distinct paths. The ambiguity and various forms of symbolism presented
84 Suspiria (1977) - Nov 21, 2009
64 The Bedroom Window (1987) - Nov 17, 2009
72 Blood: The Last Vampire (2000) - Nov 17, 2009
58 Blood: The Last Vampire (2009) - Nov 17, 2009
Mini-Review: Not as bad as I thought it would be, although that'€™s not saying much. The action scenes aren't that bad except they seem kind of superfluous and overlong. The blood is really fake looking and the cgi used to create it is too noticeable. The movie is quite slick and even stylish at times. Unfortunately, the acting comes off as amaturish and the script doesn't fare much better. Going in with low expectations and not expecting much is probably the way to go when preparing to watch this movie.
