| Mini-Review: The film is perfectly acceptable, but it's outdone in every way by last year's The Wrestler. |

| Mini-Review: Visually, yes, this film is quite impressive. The CGI doesn't make up for the countless plotholes, retarded dialogue, unnecessary plotlines (seriously, they could've cut everything with Sigourney Weaver, and saved 30 minutes of runtime), and making everything needlessly "alien" (illuminated plant life that served no purpose by being lit up, unnecessary evolved extra limbs and eyes). I had low expectations going in, but I wasn't really prepared for how often I was going to roll my eyes. |

| 1T | | Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Str... | 100 |
| Mini-Review: One of the greatest films ever made. A New Hope and Return of the Jedi are great fantasy/sci-fi flicks, but Empire was a full, real movie that was also about space stuff. The key here was that George Lucas didn't direct, passing that duty off to a guy who, up until that point, had only ever really done romance films. And the result was tremendous. |
| 1T | | Princess Mononoke | 100 |
| Mini-Review: One of my real favorites. There's no real clear-cut villain, this is all shades of grey. Man vs. nature. A must-see for fans of fantasy films or anime. |
| 1T | | Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai | 100 |
| Mini-Review: Deliberate slow-paced movie that incorporates a lot of old movie styles. The rap soundtrack is perfect, the Ice Cream Man is hilarious, and I just love the feel of this movie. But it's not for everybody. |
| 1T | | The Dark Knight | 100 |
| Mini-Review: Holy shit. |
| 1T | | Predator | 100 |
| Mini-Review: An elite unit of commandos is sent into the jungle, but they get much more than they bargained for when they run into a mysterious creature that eliminates them one by one. Major Dutch Schaefer realizes he has to make a stand, and he does it with nothing but guts. The most perfect action movie ever made. |
| 7 | | There Will Be Blood | 99 |
| Mini-Review: Days after seeing it, I'm still buzzing about it. I've got to think that, well, this movie is... perfect. |
| 7T | | Inglourious Basterds | 99 |
| Mini-Review: It was great. Strange, but great. I really can't put down finalized thoughts without seeing it again, but .... wow. I certainly could say that I felt the film was missing some real action-y "meat", but still had a great story, and wonderful characters. Christoph Waltz just made his career. |
| 7T | | Barton Fink | 99 |
| Mini-Review: One of my absolute favorites. You need to see it a few times to pick up every thing, and ... just wow. |
| 7T | | The Big Lebowski | 99 |
| Mini-Review: Man, I love this movie. Everyone is just so perfect. |

 | Terminator 2: Judgment Day | 92 |
For a movie concerned with the apocalypse and machines and everything, this was a really good movie about fatherhood. And who would've thought Edward Furlong couldn't be topped by Stahl? |
 | Batman Begins | 96 |
Easily the best Batman movie ever. They somehow fit a full explaining of the character's backstory, roots and motivations, along with great villains, into roughly 2 hours. Simply outstanding. Improves greatly upon repeated viewings. Has to lose 4 points because of Katie Holmes. |
 | District 9 | 47 |
The fact that the film centered around a slapstick character killed any chance of me taking it seriously. There were some really neat parts, but then, Captain Oops would pop up again. The plot holes didn't help: Why didn't the aliens use their superior weaponry to fuck shit up? Why didn't any of their people come looking for them? Why did the aliens have human names? I think the idea was great, but too much of it was the same old stuff. Great CGI, though. |
 | Popeye | 66 |
Really cute and an effective cartoon-to-musical translation. They even have cartoony shoes with the bump on the toe. I don't understand the hate for this movie, but I think those folks take this waaay too seriously. It's great fun, and Robin Williams was the right man for the job. |
 | Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai | 100 |
Deliberate slow-paced movie that incorporates a lot of old movie styles. The rap soundtrack is perfect, the Ice Cream Man is hilarious, and I just love the feel of this movie. But it's not for everybody. |
