Mini-Review: Where do I start? Kim Cattrall's disappearing/re-appearing accent, the decoder ring Ewan needed at the end, the carnival-esque soundtrack, or the utterly pointless and useless plot?
Mini-Review: I can see why lots of people like it, and why it was an important film at the time, but really, I was just bored.
Mini-Review: The fight scenes are ridiculously amazing, and I really wonder if they decided "we're paying you to take a flying knee to the face". The story is good enough, but the characters are cliche and mostly annoying, but the pure amount of ass-kickery carries everything. I could've lived without the instant replay scenes.
Mini-Review: It's very pretty, but very formula. Hopkins really felt lazy, and Toro didn't have the charisma to pull this off.
Mini-Review: The film is perfectly acceptable, but it's outdone in every way by last year's The Wrestler.
Mini-Review: Visually, yes, this film is quite impressive. The CGI doesn't make up for the countless plotholes, retarded dialogue, unnecessary plotlines (seriously, they could've cut everything with Sigourney Weaver, and saved 30 minutes of runtime), and making everything needlessly "alien" (illuminated plant life that served no purpose by being lit up, unnecessary evolved extra limbs and eyes). I had low expectations going in, but I wasn't really prepared for how often I was going to roll my eyes.
