Mini-Review: Yes, I'm one of those people who loves the original Star Wars trilogy and hates on the prequels. No, I'm not one of those people who hates on the Star Wars prequels but thinks that Revenge Of The Sith is actually a pretty ok movie. It's not. Stop fooling yourself. It's the worst of the lot. Just because there are lightsaber battles does not mean that it's good. Seriously...stop it.
Mini-Review: Ugh. I loved Garfield as a kid, which was back when he didn't cater to kids. This film is irredeemable.
Mini-Review: Hilarious. A bit dated now, but the sentiments of office life still ring absolutely true. Endlessly quotable. Also, just the right kind of late 90's low budget quality that I love for some reason.
Mini-Review: Jim Carrey proves that he doesn't have to be funny to be entertaining, but is still pretty funny. Great concept, excellent execution, and a lot of great performances keep this one locked firmly in my memory banks as a personal favorite.
Mini-Review: I'm amazed that so many adults praised the hell out of this movie. It's very predictable and stereotypical, the CG isn't on the Pixar level (yeah, yeah, Pixar snob here), the characters were uninteresting, and the action was only so-so. Still, in 2010 everyone was shitting all over UP and eating this shit up. Dunno why. Probably never will.
Mini-Review: I love the characters. I love the premise. I love the action. I love the dialogue. I love the villain. I love the actors. I love the humor. I hate the ending. One of my major movie pet peeves is when the ending feels like it belongs in a different film, as though the writer couldn't think of a climax that tied into the rest of the story, so he/she just plucked the last 15 pages from another script with a better finale. After Bruce and Sam board the boat it becomes a different, less awesome film.
Mini-Review: Way funny. Way original. Perhaps a bit played out at this point, but you can't deduct too many points from a good movie because it started some bad trends.
Mini-Review: A classic. I haven't seen it in quite some time, but I know that I'll still love whenever I happen to see it again. This came from that Disney sweet-spot that also produced The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and Aladdin. All great films with great music, great character design, great stories, and excellent animation.
Mini-Review: Overrated. It's not bad, but as with most of Ridley Scott's movies (in my opinion), what we have here is a potentially awesome film that could stand to be 20-30% less dull/boring. Gladiators? Fuck yes! So, why am I underwhelmed? Oh, because Ridley Scott is a bore.
Mini-Review: An excellent buddy cop action/comedy. Also, one of the first. So-so story held up on the shoulders of the perfect odd couple of lead actors. Some cringe-worthy racism aside, a very enjoyable watch.
