Mini-Review: A courtroom drama at its finest with a twist.
McConaughey brings back his lawyer-ness last used in A Time to Kill and does just as well.
There are so many things I would like to say in this but I'm afraid it will add too many spoilers so... just watch this movie. It's really good.
McConaughey is relentless in his pursuit for justice, Tomei did well as the ex-wife, Phillippe was an excellent defendant and Leguizamo was as sleazy as ever.
Last thing, I really enjoyed the music in this film.
Mini-Review: Rise was just what the doctor ordered.
This movie was incredibly fun and let me do something that I don't always get to do in a movie... cheer for the bad guys.
Andy Serkis was great as Caesar and was definitely my favorite character in the movie.
Freida Pinto had a small part but she is always a lovely addition to any cast.
I was surprised to see Tom Felton in this movie, a.k.a. Malfoy from the Harry Potter films.
I had such a great time watching this all I can ask for is more sequels!
Mini-Review: I loved how this movie looked. The grid looked amazing, the costumes were really cool and the action was awe-inspiring.
I thought Olivia Wilde was great and so was Jeff Bridges in his return to the world of Tron.
Now for the bad stuff...
I did not really care for the main character Sam. I also did not like that they used CGI of Jeff Bridge's face for CLU
The thing that knocked this down a full 10 points was a political statement that was snuck in; not needed or wanted and it took me out of
Mini-Review: Thank the users for such a trippy movie! I will tel you one thing, next time a blow up a video game character, I might actually wonder if I just sent a computer program to it's death. I thought this was definitely a fun film and was visually very beautiful and had some really nice effects for when it came out. This came out at the same time as Blade Runner but I thought it had much better CGI available. Probably because of all the crazy Disney cash available to them. I loved this movie.
Mini-Review: If you can get past the parts of the movie that earned the rating of R in this, then you will love this film.
I thought the mystery going on was superb.
Rooney Mara deserved the Oscar she was nominated for in this for sure. She had to do more hard scenes in this than Halle Berry had to do in the Monster's Ball (and performed better too).
So Rooney, my heart goes out to you. You deserved your shiny trophy... I hope you get the next one you're nominated for. Awesome job, amazing movie. See th
Mini-Review: They should have just made this into one movie. I felt like I was forced to watch someone's wedding video and honeymoon video for a whole hour of the film.
They just spent way too much time on the lead up to the wedding, the wedding, the super-long honeymoon and then finally they were like "HEY, LET'S ADD SOME ACTION FINALLY"!
Sadly the action was Bella getting pregnant with a demon child and now everyone wants to kill it. Except Jacob who should kill it but I guess loves it instead. Bad movie
Mini-Review: The O.G. Manchurian Candidate was a very interesting movie. I think Sinatra was really, really good in this movie. I have never seen him act before this, so I don't have much to compare it to but I really liked his very subtle style of acting. Who really surprised me was Angela Lansbury wow... what a sick and devious woman! I liked seeing her as a younger actress but I had to laugh that she still has a grandmotherly voice! A slow film until the end. Great twist made it worth it for sure!
Mini-Review: I had no idea what this movie was about when I started watching it.
I was pleasantly surprised at the story.
An almost modern biblical tale of a man who has been asked by God to protect one of the last Holy Bible's left in the world.
Denzel Washington was awesome in this, he would smite his enemies with ease and never backed down.
Gary Oldman was as excellent as ever playing the evil man out to use the Bible to control the masses of his run-down town.
Mila Kunis also did a great supporting
Mini-Review: Tim Roth and Gary Oldman worked so well together in this movie.
I thought the writing of the script was top notch.
There were some slow parts that made me lose interest a few times but then a funny scene would pop up and I would be back in it.
Richard Dreyfuss was probably my favorite person in this as "The Player". His Shakespearean style of acting is hilarious.
So this was a pretty good flick. It could have been a little shorter but it was pretty entertaining nonetheless. Tim Roth is so co
Mini-Review: Adrian Brody isn't one of my favorite actors, neither is Ben Affleck. I tried not to let that affect my judgement on this film.
I actually really liked this movie for the most part. It had a very interesting story and I liked the time period that it was set in. I also had some working knowledge of this "suicide of Superman" case.
Despite all of that this movie had some really boring parts and had a very vague ending that just ended up disappointing me. I liked it up until the end. Then... blah
