Bio: Highly critical cameraman.
My Review Scale:
90%+ are those rarest and most hallowed of films: the (near) perfect. A highly personal category, but the sort that, when asked "what is your favorite film?", can easily be reeled off.
80-89% are the cream of the crop; the films I recommend even to the most casual acquaintence. Anything above 85% is the sort of experience that expands horizons, influences opinion, shapes personality - and, most likely, continues to have the same or new epiphanies upon subsequent viewings.
70-79% are the "better than average;" those films you're happy to watch every so often. The lowest level of a favourite film. Something to recommend to a friend.
60-69% are the "rank average," the sort of flick you might watch if there's literally nothing better on TV.
50-59% are structurally or technically flawed; films so low on the scale that they're guilty of being bad but not unwatchable, and if you do like it you'd probably only share the fact with a close friend.
Anything below 50% is on the slippery, slidey scale of general awfullness. Avoid as a matter of course.
