Mini-Review: Not a terrible movie, also not a complete ripoff of Akira, but enough of both to make it frustrating. Bonus points for a P.O.V.-style (doesn't actually get old or annoying, which is impressive), but a lot of the dialogue / plot points have a tinge of "trying to hard"
Mini-Review: Weird Foustian horror-romance-comedy. More of a filmed play than a movie, it is certainly a new experience. Definitely a movie to see at least once if you dig the dark experimental cinema thing.
Mini-Review: About a third longer than it needed to be, but still surprisingly good. Acting from the kids can be a bit melodramatic, but it's more than made up for by the adult heavy hitters (Lee, Kingsley, Cohen). A sad but helpful story about fixing what's broken and finding your place.
