70 Shutter Island - Mar 12, 2010
Mini-Review: For me, this is the best Scorsese since Kundun. Actually, it's his only film I liked since Kundun. But I have to say that it was totally predictable, even before I got in the theatre. And the ending wasn't really satisfying.
64 The Door - Mar 07, 2010
80 Miracle Fish - Mar 07, 2010
75 Ajami - Mar 07, 2010
58 Nine - Mar 02, 2010
Mini-Review: The only real movie moment comes at the test screening with Cotillard, the only real good song (and performance) is "Take It All"... So, I think it's safe to say that Marion Cotillard is the best thing in this film... Kate Hudson's character is totally useless. A bit more focus on the relationship between Day-Lewis and Cotillard instead could've actually make this film work.
43 Veda - Mar 01, 2010
84 The Secret in Their Eyes - Feb 20, 2010
Mini-Review: extremely well crafted film with the most powerful and thought provoking finale of the year. and that finale should easily bring this film the oscar.
52 The Wolfman - Feb 19, 2010
Mini-Review: Surprisingly close to the ways of classic horror literature, but still uninteresting and cliché-driven. I'm pretty sure that the CGI supported make-up job won't be nominated for an Oscar next year. Elfman's score had some moments of clear reference to Wojciech Kilar's Dracula score. But in the end, it's really Emily Blunt who saves this from being a complete waste of time.
62 Police, Adjective - Feb 19, 2010
Mini-Review: Great material, but in-your-face attitude and repetetive, lazy narrative doesn't match.
