Mini-Review: I'm surprised Nicholson didn't win an Oscar for this, because he was absolutely incredible. This is one of my favorite character portraits.
Mini-Review: This movie is the pinnacle of writing, and has so many layers of emotions and characters smashing into each other that it's very difficult to not become overwhelmed. Filled with wonderful life epiphanies and great acting, and, best of all, is so gripping because it's so real and personal, and not pretentious. Charlie Kaufman was nominated for a Best Screenplay Award for a movie he wrote about (loosely) failing to write a screenplay.
Mini-Review: Akira is an absolute joy to watch. It doesn't just progress, it unfolds and keeps you on the edge of your seat with its insane transitions and animation.
Mini-Review: Edward Norton's performance in AHX is one of the finest acting performances I have ever seen, and I like that they display a pretty unbiased view. They let Norton explain himself in an educated way, and then explain why he is wrong without looking down on his opinion. However, I think the point the movie makes doesn't help me personally, because I knew all that. It's a one-dimensional, almost doumentary-like film stressing one point, and isn't good for much else.
