40 The Exploding Girl (2009) - Mar 08, 2010
Mini-Review: I can appreciate its eagerness to capture life as you would normally expect to witness it. But unfortunately it didn't make for a very interesting story. I found I really didn't care too much about any of the characters. I liked the idea of the film better than the film itself. The ending was very sweet though and could have concluded a much better story than what was given here.

Mini-Review: George Clooney represents a fine example of someone who has their life in perfect order. But the film represents the fact that there are always things that can disrupt that "order" and even though it may be frustrating, confusing and depressing, it can also be uplifting, fulfilling and memorable.

Mini-Review: As an atheist I can appreciate Ricky Gervais' attempt at creating a mainstream story that touches on the issue of religion and it's power of deception on the world. It also had a lot of awesome cameo's but in the end it just wound up being unfunny, contrived and just pretty bad overall. I laughed a few times but not often enough whatsoever. I watched for about an hour just to see what would happen in the end which I saw coming from a mile away regardless.
