60 Thor (2011) - Apr 26, 2011
Mini-Review: As mentioned before,3D is pointless, except credits/endings,where creators show their skills(unfortunately cinema operators think that turning lights on after last scene is a must so I couldn't fully enjoy spectacular ending title images).Role play is common and a lot of hollywood-scenes like obligatory kissing are here as well. Even if Portman is a nice chick,I can't say that of her acting(poor as usual).Amateur cosplayers would do better than actors' 'pro' clothing. Pros: Hopkins+nice effec
28 Jumper (2008) - Feb 15, 2011
Mini-Review: Samuel L. Jackson amazes me again, taking part in another pathetic production ("Snakes on a plane" was the first one)...well maybe not as idiotic as mentioned earlier. Idea and plot base were great...were. Construction of scenario reminds me Uwe Boll's movies, beside a few scenes that were good enough, the rest sucks the big way. Some special effects rise a score a bit but let's face it - another good story, mixed into bad acting, plastic scenes and a lot more poo than you can imagine.Stay away.
17 10,000 B.C. (2008) - Feb 15, 2011
Mini-Review: Special effects can't spare this production. Cheap roleplay, artificial lights like in "Neverending story" but hey! it was decades ago, we have a brand new ways to blend actors with bluescreen. One scene with mammoth is copied twice in this movie and I mean it. Main actress stays almost 90% of whole film, untouchable by dirt and stains, she shines like Megan Fox in transformers...like invisible, anti-stain aura around her. Sentences copied from pre-school book. Common but nice tale - screwed up.
55 The Last Exorcism (2010) - Feb 15, 2011
Mini-Review: Another blair-witch-like trial of making something delusional, something that have to shake and make you believe, at least in a part of it. Filming from hand is not the way to become original (it's overrated), most of the things are predictable, acting is on a good level if you didn't see many thrillers this type. I've seen enough...This is ridiculous...and the last scene is so damn pathetic that I almost exploded with laugh first time during a so-called horror movie. One-timer. A common one.
80 Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans (2009) - Feb 13, 2011
Mini-Review: Probably the only movie that Cage played seriously and the only movie in which I like him (believe me I saw a lot of them). Dirty and real plot, dirty and rude role play, messy environment and relations between characters. Even if in my opinion Nicolas plays plastic and perfect-shiny roles he did it well here, and I must admit it - I think he did a lot better than in "The Rock" which was my favourite of him so far. More of these kind may let him revive a bit and be treated more serious...
42 Eat Pray Love (2010) - Feb 13, 2011
Mini-Review: Can't be totally "even-handed" here because I don't really like Julia Roberts (she's a nice woman but actresses crying for half of their career are not in my type). The only thing that saves this movie is choreography. All locations including Rome, Napoli, Bali and so on are just filmed perfectly and are a feast to the eye. Beside that: extremely long, trite plot, very common play and seriously You must be up to two-hour-happy-ending-dramas to enjoy it. Avoid spending money to go the cinema.
52 Sanctum (2010) - Feb 12, 2011
Mini-Review: If You expect another Avatar...well, You'll be disappointed. The plot is worn out by thousand productions made before it. Even if, it's still better than Descent-like movies. Roleplay is average and far from a decent one, but with crew made of not-celebs is quite good. Effect make You feel some of the huge intense atmosphere of big caves and claustrophobic feeling that comes with some passages. 3D is not necessary but brings some spice to it. Enough to watch on a big screen but one of bottoms...
19 Ninja (2009) - Feb 10, 2011
Mini-Review: Honestly? Who gives money for this kind of "movies". Waste of time and nerves. 19 points for the word "Ninja" in title plus some nice slowdowns and speedups during fights. Beside mentioned things, so common, so lacking of any emotions, so bad acted and so screwed up in the name of plot, that it is hard to even think of it. Fortunately it was a copy on my hard drive, what means...yes, 1,5GB of free space that I just gained. Leave it, unless You (like me) must see something before You delete it.
62 Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) - Feb 09, 2011
Mini-Review: This production should definitely be made with no human factor. Actors are a pathetic example of how to screw up great action animation. LaBeouf with others is a pain in a hole here. 2 points for the whole movie part, acting and plot. 60 points for uncommon effects and a great work on action animation. Megan Fox stays unscratched and clean as a newborn even after half an hour of falling from heights, getting thrown through doors/walls by explosions, untouched by tons of dirt and sand.
42 G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009) - Dec 29, 2010
Mini-Review: Can't understand what audience is this movie for...G.I.Joe is dedicated to young people, let's say straight - kids. Comics are close to the same audience so...WTF is going on? A lot of 'brutal' solutions, way too heavy for this age-range to bear without being affected. Acting poor as hell and if it comes to fights - definitely for adults. Guess that someone had only money in his/her sick mind. Beside that only thing that may want You to see it are special effects...at least major part of them.
