Mini-Review: Smart, witty, funny, suspenseful, and very awesome. This comes from a big Scream fan and a huge horror fan, so I am admittedly biased, but I think the Scream movies just get it right.
Mini-Review: Most things about this movie are average at best: the story/plot, the acting, special effects/makeup, etc... but there are a couple moments where the acting is pretty good and the atmosphere is creepy; sadly, it is just barely enough to make it worth watching, nothing more. It is a low budget that aims at genuine horror and almost succeeds. It veers away a bit from campy schlock; there is very little gore and no nudity (but plenty of skimpy outfits), which I actually found a little refreshing.
Mini-Review: I had a lot of fun with this movie, it has a good sense of humor.
Mini-Review: According to the description, these guys are supposed to be US Army, but almost everything about them is wrong; uniforms, rank insignia, standard issue weapons, unit composition & tactics, even the idle chatter about various Army procedures is woefully incorrect. It is very obvious that the filmmakers have no idea how the Army actually works. It annoys me greatly that they didn't even care enough to do basic research. If they don't care about the movie, why should I?
Mini-Review: I can get past the less than stellar CG and the recycled shots; what I can't get past are the lame jokes and terrible acting. Unless you are for some reason extremely desperate for a shitty creature feature, steer clear.
Mini-Review: Very good for a TV movie, I really liked the psycho christian sub-plot. If you buy the DVD, it might be a bit too long to watch in one sitting; You're gonna need a lot of popcorn.
Mini-Review: Way too many scenes of the two women driving and walking in the desert; several plot elements seem to resolve purely by magic (a woman fixes a broken down truck with only a screwdriver, the hero actually survives his "blow up the space station to save the world" moment, and the Earth is just fine after loosing pretty much all of the planets in the solar system, and presumably the moon as well) The acting, story, effects, editing and camera work all suck ass, no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
