Conan the Barbarian (2011) - Jan 17, 2012

Mini-Review: Basically a video game movie. Conan moves from level to level, fight scene to fight scene, beating up whatever he can, until he reaches the boss (which he beats up), only to move on and do it all again in a new level. The fights are neat, but that's about it.

Mini-Review: Pretty solid action flick with a number of dizzying stunts. I might have given it a higher score, but I can't tell if this movie might hold up outside of an IMAX.

Insidious (2010) - Jan 03, 2012

Mini-Review: By the numbers horror film - OH GOD LOOK OVER THERE IT'S oh nothing. It plays out exactly how you think it's going to. Some parts are tense, but during the second half - WHAT WAS THAT YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE ME I SAW SOMETHING! Sorry, during the 2nd half, it gets silly. Almost a paint-by-numbers Poltergeist.
