Mini-Review: Masterfully written and acted.
Mini-Review: Not as horrible as other similar films, but just a very plain, lazy, forgettable chick flick. Some funny moments, but they were outnumbered by the cringe-worthy ones.
Mini-Review: Reasonably well crafted, but nothing too special.
Mini-Review: Not too original, and quite predictable, but still funny, warm and pleasant to watch. Unlike some other reviewers I actually liked all the characters. They felt very real and human. The somewhat flat ending drags the film down a bit, though.
Mini-Review: Certainly more intelligent than most sport films, but just like the game of baseball itself, it felt a bit dry, and too long. Yeah, I'm not a fan of the sport, and this movie didn't do anything to make me one. I didn't really care that much for Pitt's character and performance, either.
Mini-Review: I'm not really a fan of Allen's style, but the fantasy parts in this were quite delightful, although they could've been longer and deeper. I'd give the fantasy parts a 75, and the contemporary parts a 45.
Mini-Review: Fantastic. Can't remember the last time a film made me smile this much.
Mini-Review: The weird mix of family-friendly sentimentality, comedic relief, and the horrors of war doesn't work. In fact, there's not much in here that does work, other than the admittedly (mostly) excellent cinematography and production design. "Manipulative mess", as another reviewer put it, is an accurate description.
Also, I don't like horses.
Mini-Review: Charming, but forgettable. Good acting, especially by Davis, Chastain and Spacek. Wouldn't be surprised if it picks up one or two of those Best Actress statuettes. It won't, and shouldn't, get the Best Picture one, though.
