Mini-Review: Hmmm, reminds me of a conversation between two philosophy majors. Some intriguing ideas, but mostly naïve. What they are talking about though is awareness. People today lack awareness, they're saying. But, haven't people always? And if that doesn't entirely make sense, then consider it a reflection of this movie.
Westerners, and these two guys in particular, have too much time on their hands. Put them in the third world where their time is consumed by survival, then they will be human again.
Mini-Review: I found this deeply disturbing on one level, and strangely heart-warming on another. Not many movies that can do that.
Mini-Review: This boy is not as unusual as you might think. There are people like Kevin in prisons around the world. This is more true-to-life, than many care to think about. A person possessed by his own destructive ego. What's so shocking about that.
Mini-Review: A fascinating suspense with captivating, if a little theatrical, performances.
Mini-Review: God help us if society ever accepts the world this movie portrays. Regardless, this is not nearly as "depressing" as some have claimed, and more an interesting, thought provoking story that is ultimately about the human condition, relationships and mortality, and how they are "interwoven".
Mini-Review: One word;
