Rewatched early 2018. Some episodes might stand well on their own, but when taken altogether and in order the storyteller's confidence emerges that is required to really sell work like this. Characters are introduced one at a time, in such a way that we understand why they are the way they are. And the final episode is obviously a climax; not only is it more elaborate but it's as close as Lynch ever got to self-parody.

Since Lynch seems to have left directing alone, I honestly would like to see him fuck around with making Flash cartoons more and just goof the fuck out.

The only adjective in my mind : violent...bad animation of course but damn violent...it's not a trick it's a Lynch.

Minor work screened for the sake of completion. Some of the scenes are absurd and humorous, but on the whole it's just stupid. I like to think Lynch is trying to trick us. Maybe it's a commentary about the cache of a highly regarded director's name, regardless about what project it's attached to.

Given Lynch's short fuse when it comes to pretty much anything in life, I imagine one of his neighbours must've pissed him off and this was his childish (over)reaction. That last episode was...something else.

Delves into its own crudeness, in animation and content. To me, it's very funny -- its sporadic and forceful humour reminds me of that of some of my favourite YouTube/Newgrounds channels. This is close to what real life is like.

Dumbland circles in the same field like The Angriest Dog in the World or his eralier shorts. It's based on repetition and the most simplest output. But the stongest part of the shorts are rythm and soundtrack. It's sure absurd and animaly violent animation but there is a familiar small town lifestyle behind. Mood and human voices (all by Lynch himself) are amazing. And not to forget the presence of a dog.

I hated it at first, and most will probably hate it in the end too, but after giving it a chance I ended up liking the combination of horrible drawing and utter randomness. Comedy isn't really Lynch's strength but this one works on some level.

The humor really stuck with me in a slightly worrisome way. But really, you likely need kind of a weird comic sense to appreciate this.

It lost me with all the farting. I didn't expect poop humor from David Lynch. There are some moments of odd profundity hidden within
