Glenn Close devours acres of scenery while her henchmen endure Home Alone-esque slapstick gags and John Hughes collects an easy paycheck. Managed to be a stupid and unnecessary Disney live-action remake 20 years before they became Disney's primary business strategy.

An uninspired and rather boring live-action "remake" of the classic Disney film, salvaged only partially by Glenn Close's splendid performance as the film's fur-wearing villain. Only for young children.

Glenn Close is so so so good, like Norma Desmond on acid in this. The costumes, music and production design are mostly terrific (very prime Burton-esque). Too bad for every single other thing in this undercooked mess.

Standard mainstream 90s kiddie fare elevated somewhat by Close’s brilliantly demented and psychotic evocation of Cruella – the characterisation is so perfectly realised (and Close is clearly having so much fun going right over the top) that it literally screams for a better movie, especially during the agonisingly protracted third act, where Williams and Laurie are put through a monotonous HOME ALONE-ing – though the sight of Close emerging from molasses is almost worth the price of admission!

I'm sure if I would have been the correct age to have seen this movie I would have enjoyed it very much. I believe that I saw the file around the time that it came out but even then I was too old for this kind of movie to have made an impression. The casting and writing in the movie are pretty good. John Hughes is going back to the well with the two flunkies they are carbon copies of the robbers from Home Alone but British. The movie was alright but I won't be watching it again.

Glenn Close did wonders with Cruella and her dresses and her car were amazing. But the rest didn't even come close to the original animation. It was fun to see Laurie slumming back in the day also.

The only reason I've given this lukewarm, pointless remake a mark as high as 50 is Glenn Close. Her Cruella is nice and over-the-top, just the way it ought to be, and consequently, is the best and most memorable thing here. Everything else is absolutely pointless.

Why? Did Disney feel the need to make a live-action version of their animated classic? Answer is obvious. Children will eat it up and make parents throw their money away to a company that doesnt need any more money. Or, was the question posed to myself, as in why in the hell would you actually watch this? Damn kids.

Ah, damn, Cruella DeVil is such a hot, stylish fashion icon. I also have a crush on Glenn Close and her devilishly pleasing performance. Many elitist brats fancy sneering on this film but I find it a fairly entertaining children's movie of the '90s, nothing more or less.

101 Dalmatians is a poor live-action adaptation of the much loved Disney animated classic. Certain material is just tailor made for animation. And in the case of 101 Dalmatians, ultimately the story just doesn't translate well or work convincingly with real Dalmatians. However Glenn Close is horribly perfect for the role of Cruella de Vil. And I do have a guilty pleasure for the slapstick comic relief that Hugh Laurie & Mark Wilson add. But otherwise this is bland, melodramatic & forgettable.

I suppose it's not a bad attempt to convert the annimated classic into a movie - it's just that it doesn't come anywhere near the Disney classic. Glenn Close is superbly evil and there are some nice cameos but if you want to watch the real thing stick with the Disney toon.

The crazy thing is that this predates all the modern Disney live action adaptations by a fair bit. You'd think with as shit as this was, they'd have given up. But you have to give the film credit for being the first, and maybe this will prevent another live action adaptation of this material coming out in the future.

Harmless slapstick fun for kids, incredibly strange and improbable film for adults - it does bizarre stuff for the sake of expediency that makes no sense in the real world, like the marriage of some ordinary couple being reported as news in London. Also, I can see it making a women's studies professor quake with rage.

Glenn Close in an amazing fit as Cruella, she plays that role amazingly. The rest of the movie is so-so. The animals are cute, but when they use the CGI it hasn't held up very well. They also tried to go too cartoony in the live action version in places, like when the one villain froze and had icicles dangling off of him. It's entertaining to a certain degree, but the animated version is loads better.

This adaptation of a famous animation turned out to be just fine. The acting's not too cheesy, and the animals didn't have to be "improved" by a computer effects, which is a huge advantage (considering that it would be probably horrible, having in mind the year of the production). Cruella doesn't have this hysterical laughter characteristic for villains. All in all, this is a nice & warm movie to watch.

Glenn Close does a pretty good adaptation of Cruella here, but that's pretty much the only thing that validates this movie's existence. Sure it's funny that Dr. House and Mr. Weasley are in it, but it's not like anyone watched House or Harry Potter and remembered those actors from this movie.

It's an OK film, I guess, but it doesn't really capture the manic energy of the animated film. Instead, it's more of a slapstick-y Home Alone knock off that, while it ups the production value, doesn't really have much of an emotional heart to it. Props to Glenn Close, however, for getting really silly with her villainous role.

Glenn Close revels in the Cruella de Vil role and does a fine job in bringing Disney's most iconic villain to life. Take her out of the equation and it's otherwise a fairly charmless kids' movie, which suffers chiefly from lazy storytelling and the absence of any animal dialogue - Sergeant Tibbs is sorely missed.

This was a cute film with good CGI for the time. The story is okay and it manages to capture some of the spirit of the original animated film. And while it never could be as good as the original, with the masterful casting of Glenn Close as Cruella De'Ville it is a good movie. This is much better than many other live action Disney flicks they have made over the years. Plus the happy meal toys were cool.
