Remember when Tarantino used to write tightly-paced darkly comedic thrillers instead of 3-hour-long bouts of famous actors talking? This flick is like the former. As depraved and as annoying as some side characters get, it's hard to look away. The script is razor sharp, but it's really Bettis that carries it. She is absolutely phenomenal. This is something like Good Time meets old school Tarantino with a touch more grit and (presumably) realism. A wild ride from start to finish.

A bit over the top sometimes, but mostly pretty bloody fun organ trafficking comedy led by Bettis' performance and smart bits of deadpan, farcical comedy.

Uneven, but at its best - which is most of the last act - it's bloody hilarious. Angela Bettis was born to play roles like this, and the fact that she doesn't get to do it more often is a blot on film history.

I really wanted this to be good because Angela Bettis is one of my favorites. But any film in which the characters sing (including ALL musicals!) just sucks no matter what.
