13 Eerie

It's nice to see Katie doing the killing for once, instead of being the killee, but she's so woefully miscast. She's at her best when she's playing strong female characters, but unfortunately that doesn't transfer over to action heroines. Some pretty decent effects, but I couldn't recommend it to non-Katharine Isabelle worshippers.

13 Eerie is a well-paced zombie movie with some good looking creatures, a couple of solid scares, and one hilarious scene of comedy. It's generic to the bone, though, which means that a lot of it feels like something you've seen before. It starts out with a clever setup but eventually degenerates to a "zombies attack" movie. There's little fundamentally wrong with it, and if it happens to be on television some night and you want to watch it, you're not going to feel like you wasted your time.

Awful, senseless set-up followed by a nowhere near fun-enough B-movie.

I do not know why people hate it. I do not like zombie genre and I found it very enjoyable.
