13 Frightened Girls!

Perhaps the best Nancy Drew mystery that never was. The are a lot of things wrong with this film but if you think about it as a kid's/family film much like "Cloak & Dagger" than this is wonderful.

Started promising, than disappointment set in because this wasn't a horror/thriller featuring neither 13 nor frightened girls but a family friendly spy-comedy with a teenage girl as the protagonist, than after accepting it for what it is and not what I was expecting, it actually was very enjoyable.

An oddball Castle movie that moves from embarrassing teen drama to embarrassing teen espionage with the poise and grace of one of Tony Danza's segues. It's a pretty random reference but if you get it, send me a message. We can totally be friends.

Besides the fact that this is perhaps one of the most mismarketed films of all time & has zero place being double-billed alongside 13 Ghosts or any other horror movie, it's actually pretty fun & surprisingly well-made. Kathy Dunn, who went on to star in 0 movies after this, does a great job as a teen spy wannabe. The supporting cast is solid. There are even a couple actual tense moments towards the end. It's also rather progressive in some ways, though very dated in others. Silly, but not bad.
