2 Days in Paris follows a New York couple, French photographer Marion and American interior designer Jack, as they attempt to re-infuse their relationship with romance on a European vacation. Their week in Venice didn't work out as planned--the food didn't agree with Jack and when he was well enough to go out, he was so focused on capturing the trip with his digital camera that he forgot to experience it. They have higher hopes for their last 2 days in Paris. (imdb)

Entertaining look at a realistic relationship. It doesn't hurt that I totally love Delpy either. I probably won't remember this in a year but I enjoyed it at the time.

Too bad Before sunset exists. It's just not fair.

Genuinely hilarious story of love lost and then found and then lost again. Much of the humour arising from the clash of cultures, which normally comes off as lazy film making but in this case Delpy makes it work with both her deft directing and acting. And the same goes for Goldberg who is simultaneously loveable and annoying in his American ways. Albert Delpy as the father almost steals the show. Features one of the greatest break up scenes in film.

Occasionally grating and awkward, but that's also what makes it so entertaining at times. The neurotic hyper-realism takes identifiable human situations and blows them up to the point of absurdity while the film's style keeps some semblance of grounding. I enjoyed it quite a bit even though I found it flawed.

Very funny and sincere at times, but ultimately more lightweight than Delpy probably intends.

Entertaining but easy to forget. Delpy is not necessarily my favourite, but she's good actor. Adam is way out of my taste.

2 Days with Delpy feels like an eternity; the sex must've been great. I watched New York (the sequel) before Paris, and it's clear that some of the jokes were reused. There are moments where the dialogue, humour & pacing come together and the film is great. And plenty more where Delpy & Goldberg's characters become a little too unbearable. I liked the less romantic way in which Paris was presented, though with an off-putting sense of New York superiority, that is indiscernibly self-aware.

Sometimes dull and boring works. 2 Days in Paris mostly works. Mostly. At times the writing is just a too lazy. There's humor and charm, but there's also a lot of annoyances. Too many. And while that's intentional, it's hardly great entertainment. Delpy captures the never-ending relationship argument well, but it's mostly something that I would never be in the mood to want to watch. It's like the Before series but without Linklater's cinematic grace. It's uncomfortable tension that never stops.

A witty, bouncy delight. I could relate to Goldberg's character so thoroughly and intensely it was downright unbelievable: he makes a great Woody Allen-for-the-new-millennium. Delpy, of course, is as wonderful as ever too, distinguishing her character here firmly from the Before franchise's Celine while still retaining the most appealing elements of the rat-a-tat-tat walk-talk manner.

Really funny. The role of Adam Goldberg's career, huh? He's great. Those scenes where everybody's speaking French around him and he has no idea what's going on are just great, a very real sort of emotion.

This is a serious cringe comedy - a little bit like 'Meet the Parents' only more upper middle class and set in France, rather than the US. I couldn't not feel sorry for Jack, played by Adam Goldberg. He plays the socially awkward type very well and given he isn't fluent in French, its not hard to see why he'd feel a little uncomfortable (a 'fish out of water' type) given the situation. The series of events that happen are sometimes surprising, sometimes shocking, often cringe/laughter enducing.

At it's best it's like Delpy's own Before Sunrise but at it's worst it's just another bad romcom. I didn't even smile once.

This speaks far too much, indeed hyper-realistic as stated in one critic but if you don't completely identify with the couple, you will likely bore yourself without learning anything or finding any universal feature.

Like before sunrise and sunset it all takes place in a short period of time in a romantic location and with Julie Delpy as one of the leads, but somehow it more feels like those movies anti-thesis. Sunrise portrays the first meeting between lovers, sunset the reunition of lovers, and this one portrays the breaking up of lovers. But the dialogue and direction is just not as good and you wish Linklater would have been holding the microphone and not Delpy. Goldberg is no Hawke either.

Witty relationship drama that is a very accurate portrayal of real relationships and is also laugh out loud funny into the bargain. Julie Delpy wrote, directed, starred in and edited this little gem - bravo!

"Makes one wonder if Delpy isn't unconsciously working through some residual, latent anger at Before Sunset co-star Ethan Hawke." - Nick Schager

This is a charming romantic comedy. There are many laughs in this film and the two lead actors do a wonderful job with their roles. Julie Delpy does a great job as both the writer and director.

2 Days in Paris doesn't quite meet the "Before Sunset" standard of intricate, subtle dialogue and sharp psychological insight--then again, neither do many movies this side of Eric Rohmer. That this one is even bearable is a surprise; that it's occasionally insightful and hilarious is a treat.

Julie Delpy is beautiful and amusing. Adam Goldberg is mostly annoying. There are some humorous situations. Especially with her speaking fluent French, him not understanding, and French guys hitting on her right in front of him. It reveals some of the culture shock for him as an American, as well as his insecurities. But the schtick gets stretched pretty thin and I was glad when the final credits start rolling. Too much talking heads and not enough Paris.

Writing and directing this film about a couple concluding a European vacation with a visit to her family in Paris, Delpy pulls together some fine scenes that highlight the ways that people helplessly pick at relationships until they run the risk of becoming little more than a problematic combination of habit and hostility. In all, it doesn't hold together, though. There's simply not enough of a story or enough grounding of the two lead characters.
