2 Days in the Valley

A Pulp Fictiony movie with worse acting directing and writing. Most of the points are for Charlize Theron.

Numerous lives intersect over the course of 2 days. A solid crime movie with some quality acting.

Bad, but entertaining. Like an utterly substance-free "Short Cuts" with a dash of "Pulp Fiction". Having just binged "The Blacklist", it's interesting to see James Spader a good 75 pounds ago and still able to, you know, move.

In a crowded 90s pool of "hip crime" films, this one got lost. Probably for good reason. Nothing is bad, but most of it is very forgettable. The cast is what sells the film as everything on the page doesn't come together.

Has a flat made for tv look.

A well written movie in the vein of Get Shorty. The dialogue is great. The ensemble cast is very good, but in particular James Spader as the bad guy was excellent. Jeff Daniels character felt a bit thrown in and randomly disappears towards the end. The Soundtrack (outside of the main theme Otis Reading's "Down in the Valley") very much left me wanting and could have been better used to make this an all time classic. Despite a few rough edges the core of this movie was surprisingly well done.

not funny, not entertaining, just plain dumb, stupid!

A really weird mix of a mostly good cast and some really bad acting, of violence and comedy. Some good moments, but it doesn't really work.

Cool Pulp Fiction wannabe that wastes a character or two, but is entertaining for the most part

If you like PULP FICTION, (and who didn't?), you should enjoy this... Especially if you like this cast, (and who wouldn't)... Danny Aiello has some hysterical moments, and there's some fun writing for the actor's to play with...

One of the best crime movies of the past ten years. This is one of my favorite James Spader performances. Danny Aiello is always good.

lots of star power adding up to not much

A bad Pulp Fiction rip off no matter how you look at it.

Nicely done in what seems to be the mid to late nineties style: A crime drama with a bunch of intersecting stories that play up to a huge blowoff in the end.

The stories just don't mesh together well at all, and while none of them are bad they're much less interesting than they should be. It doesn't help that the odd mix of comedy and drama doesn't really work either.
