20 Fingers

20 Fingers is well executed realist cinema, with almost every aspect of it working in concert with that stylistic tradition. Of particular note are the conversations, portrayed in their entirety in long takes, shot with practical lighting and in real-world locations with stolen footage. The sense that this is a film about a real Iran is palpable and exciting, even given Iranian cinema's preference for that style.
