Way too many scenes of the two women driving and walking in the desert; several plot elements seem to resolve purely by magic (a woman fixes a broken down truck with only a screwdriver, the hero actually survives his "blow up the space station to save the world" moment, and the Earth is just fine after loosing pretty much all of the planets in the solar system, and presumably the moon as well) The acting, story, effects, editing and camera work all suck ass, no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Yay! Asylum graduates from stupid, incompetent, and ridiculous to stupid, dull, and slightly offensive! This being the second of their 2012 rip off films (the first being the one under their Christian film label), it looks like a screensaver most of the time. It's awful. I could go on about the subplots, and one of the bits of tension that actually kinda bothered me, but whatever, it's not worth my time & it's not worth yours. Just trash it. It's not even "so bad it's fun," it's just dull.

While waiting Emmerich's special effects flick, I decided to have a quick peek if AD 2012 would come supernova. That was a mistake. Brian Krause, who acted in Sleepwalkers (1992) more or less okay, has stumbled himself into a low budjet film where director tries to tell a global catastrophy from the eyes of single family. Pathetic.

Appalling rip-off of the other 2012 film that makes the dodgy science of that movie seem like Nobel prize material. Something about using nukes to protect Earth from a supernova that NASA's faster-than-light defense system has detected. But they can only be launched from the ISS (which looks a lot like an Amiga trying to render Deep Space 9) because launching from Earth means factoring in gravity, which is too complicated for the scientists who just invented FTL. And then my head exploded.

Please, don't. How come these people get to make movies? They should be fined for making this piece of crap.

Barely even a movie; bottom-of-the-barrel garbage is largely incomprehensible and uninvolving. 90s TV-level special effects and performances might have been forgivable if the film either had a direct or indirect sense of fun, but it's so dour and grim that it can't even be enjoyed on a derisive level.
